Corcoran - Family History & Genealogy Message Board
- CALLING ALL CORCORANS!
As the new Corcoran mailing list coordinator, I would like us to undertake a project for 2008, and that is to try to sort out the various Corcoran lines. I am such a newbie that I don't even know if this has been tried before now.
Our Corcorans were a prolific bunch and very adventurous, so while it might be a monumental task, it is not insurmountable.
I would appreciate it if each of you would make a SEPERATE posting on the Corcoran message board. Please include in the subject something that will get people doing similar research to read your posting, like "Corcorans from Crossmolina, Mayo Settled in Rawdon, Quebec".
Please list what you know about your Corcorans and what you are looking to find out. Please post where your Corcorans came from in Ireland and where they went along with dates and names.
Let's go find our ancestors together!
Nicole
P.S. My apolgies to the mailing list members for getting this twice. I now know that posts on the board get circulated to mailing list members, but not the other way around - duh! - Dennis and Rose Corcoran
New to this...looking for info on Dennis Corcoran (b apt 1870) married to Rose Tracy...any help would be appreciated... - Hugh Corcoran (1817) & Elizabeth Corrigan (1817), Montreal, Quebec
Does anybody have Hugh Corcoran and Elizabeth Corrigan in their tree?
Hugh Corcoran, son of Denis Corcoran & Margaret McGnoy
Elizabeth Corrigan, daughter of Michael Corrigan & Rebecca Corrigan
Marriage : 13 october 1840, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
One of Hugh's brothers was Luke Corcoran, who was godfather to my GG Grandfather, Patrick Corcoran, on May 13, 1837 in Rawdon, Quebec.
Hugh and Elizabeth would have been born in Ireland around 1817 as they were 67 in the 1881 Canada census. There was also a George F. Corcoran in their household in 1881. George was 22, so he would have been born in 1859 in Quebec, Canada.
I look forward to hearing from you if there is a connection.
